Disease, wars, pollution and global warming, economic inequality: these are all realities that threaten and oppress us every day. What hope do we have? What do people need to do from a local to a global level to improve the well-being of the human race?

Colonize other planets.
Forgive foreign debt.
Sustain your own continent before exporting goods to another for profit.
Impeach U.S. presidents who do not respect global policy's set in place by the U.N.
Continue research into cures for diseases and lowering emissions.

On a more personal level though.....people look out for number one first. You say that these are realities that threaten and oppress us everyday....but judging from your ability to get on the Internet and subsequently Yahoo! Answers, I highly doubt you are personally threatened or oppressed....and neither am I. What could we do from our relative perch's of privilege to help those who aren't as fortunate?

Give food at the local shelter.
Push for politicians and policy's that carry the voice of the people.
Campaign for Universal health-care.
If possible drive a low emissions vehicle.

Wars seem to arise from religious differences. I think the world as a whole needs to respect one another's religious beliefs and learn tolerance. Everyone believes that their God is the right one and that causes tension, fighting and suffering.

Disease is due to a lack of education and resources. Super power nations such as ours should help more with fighting disease and curing them rather than wasting money on wars that don't need to be fought.

Global warming will probably never stop. As long as people are too self indulging and keep insisting on their SUVs and high emission vehicles I don't see that changing. People won't panic until global warming starts to truly affect our ability to survive. That just seems to be human nature at least in the US...

There will never be economic equality either. Technology keeps certain countries ahead. Other countries just don't stand a chance because they don't have the education or resources to attain financial stability.

There is too much greed out there. I don't see that humanity will evolve in a good way. It will most likely continue down the slippery slope it's been on for many years.

The only thing we can do is to try to improve ourselves on an individual basis. Unfortunately, this is impossible. We might be able to affect a certain level of improvement, but never enough to solve all of the human problems you mentioned.

Therefore, the only way to solve our problems is for an outside source that transcends man's psyche and has the power to influence our minds and hearts... That would be Jesus.

Agression rewards agression. The most aggressive people have the money and have the power. They are also the ones who run the government and make the laws. As long as big business can bribe the government to help them then the MAN is going to look after their interests instead of the people.

We do have hope and that's in JESUS CHRIST. Some of the thing you are asking about are already being taken like recycling, changing the gas usage, emission on car/trucks find other fuels that less pollution.
