For the last 44 years, why have all our Presidents come from the South?

I hate to break the news to you but there is no South California only California which was a Northern State During the Civil War.
So Regan came from the North But to answer your question the Northern States and the East are not considered to be the most forward thinking states in the Union.
Kerry had two strikes against him when he ran as there had not been a president from New England since John Quincy Adams.
No Presidents from Virginia since John Tyler. Carter was the first from Georgia and was really preferred over Ford, Bush 41 and 43 are the from Texas as there is power there at this time Clinton was the first from Arkansas and was a smart and adaptable politician. Reagen was Hollywood but he had allot of experience as the Governor of California with foreign affairs as that state has the sixth largest economy in the world.

So I would word your question as for the last 44 years why have we elected more state governors to the presidency?

There is probably no region in the US less like the old south than Southern California in terms of culture and politics, so your premise is flawed.

Most southerners are democrats. Democrats have apparently held more sway since the bottom half of the last century in American politics even in the north.
