The company had 2 lawyers on my case. how could this be.I am summons to court on the other law firm.

You don't settle with law firms, you settle with parties. So if there is more than one party involved on the other side, a settlement with one does not necessarily mean that you settled with the other.

It sounds like you're involved in a CIVIL matter.

Without knowing any specifics, I can't speculate other than it's possible in a senerio such as an auto accident where more than one person is represented that filed individual claims in the case!

You only need to settle once for each crime you commit.
