the best program for spyware removal free is either to use microsofts built in malware defense suite. or to go and get a copy of adaware direct from the publisher lavasoft.
http://lavasoft.com

however to be honest you need a great security suite. so consider the free trial of pc-cilliin internet security from http://www.trendmicro.com

spybot in my experiance caused more problems than it fixed.
the defense suite i now use leaves my system so clean it is practically sterile as far as bugs and malware go (spyware, trojans, adware, worms, viri etc. etc.)

good luck.
oh and it may pay to run a free online scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com
allow the program to scan and clean your system as best it can. delete what is uncleanable.
however when running the scan you need to leave the browser window open, and must not browse away or open other internet tasks.
so it may be best to start the scan, then go for a meal or something and come back in about an hour (for a 200GB drive) longer if you have more drives or larger drive or both.

once cleaned restart your computer then rescan.
once you think you are clean you should get a great malware defense suite installed making sure your system is offline during the install of the software.

easy when you know how.
one thing, the only reason you are asked to switch off system restore on some lesser defense suites is they are unable to read the system volume information folder. trendmicro can read this folder so there is no need to turn off system restore.
so if malware is detected then it is removed from all locations on your system.

You may need to switch off System Restore as back up files may be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

You need all three anti spyware programs;
http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.

And these are useful utilities;
http://www.mozilla.com/ - Firefox web browser.
http://www.ccleaner.com Cr*pcleaner Registry cleaner and privacy tool
Winpatrol is a handy utility that manages cookies on your pc and stops unwanted changes to your startup folder.
http://www.winpatrol.com
Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

Scan your computer with "Spybot - Search and Destroy". Another good one to have is "Spyware Blaster". This one doesn't scan; it just keeps a list of known spyware and blocks it if it ever tries to infect your computer.

With both of these, be sure to update and run them once a week.
