...then what term would be used to describe emperors and an imperial blood line? "Imperialty"?

Interesting question. Royalty describes emperors as well. Emperors are just over-glorified kings. The word empire just refers to a bigger area of control than a king might have.

Of course, in reality, there are no hard rules. There have been some very small and weak empires in history, and some very large kingdoms!

Imperial is the word to describe emperors. Essentially, emperors are kings except they rule over a group of nations instead of just one.

Instead of "just" Dukes and Duchesses, their children would be "Archdukes and Archduchesses."
