Noah's Flood, The earthquake that sunk the entire Atlantis in one night, The Santorini volcanic erruption (it destroyed the minoan civilization), the meteor that fell on earth and ended the dinausaur age a few million years ago and the Krakatoa erruption in 1883 when 36000 people died the climate's tamperature fell 1.2 Celcius as a resault of the erruption and the erruption was heard 3100 km away.

In my opinion 911 was by far and away one of the worst disasters this world has seen.
The fairly recent Tsunami had a strong impact on all of the world.
Hurricane Katrina is still having an impact on much of the world.
The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake rattled people all across the ocean..
Then for the 5th one I'd say
40 days and 40 nights of rain - when the earth as we know it now was destroyed by flood.

2. Armenian and Jewish holocausts. Perhaps the latter would never have happened in the first had been recognized...its where Hitler got the ideas for his "final solution."

4. The American War of Independence and our own Civil War.
5. All the countries of the world that suffer famine and killing by others.

Eating a piece of fruit started it all. Fast-forward, and we have the sinking of Atlantis, the birth of Adolph Hitler resulting in the use of nuclear weapons before realizing their devastation, the shifting of the earth's crust that caused the Asian tsunami, and the global warming contributing to the strength of Katrina.
With awareness is responsibility.
