recent as in, 12 or so years. Have you noticed the whole vampire thing as gone from terrifying creatures to sympathetic, sexy ones?

Ever since "Dracula" (1992) & "Interview".
Since then, they've mostly been aimed at the goth/ "Evanescence" crowd.

It was a cool idea at 1st, but it's totally played out. Vampires are supposed to be killers! & scary!

Right there with you... vampires as actual movie "monsters" have died out for the most part. The main reason: the influence of Anne Rice. Ick.

the sole ones that spring to techniques are Daybreakers, which makes use of vampires in a various experience than classic movies, Interview with the Vampire, a Neil Jordon action picture that's dazzling and close to darkish, a mind-blowing action picture with the help of Kathryn Bigelow. The final 2 are surprisingly outdated (being from the 80s) yet i think of they stand the try of time surprisingly lots and do not look that dated. you won't be able to declare to love vampire movies, regardless of the undeniable fact that, yet not love Nosferatu. it is an dazzling action picture and is a horror that has laid the guidelines for in general each action picture in that style (and particularly the vampire style) seeing that. The conventions for present day horror video clips have been extremely made in Nosferatu.

Viewers prefer to think of vampires as sexy, seductive creatures that want our blood. They come out at night and seduce their victims into letting down their guard so they can strike!!

Blame Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt!

I agree with you. But in "Queen of the Damned" Akasha was pretty freaking scary.
