How ro create hanging file labels?

I am trying to redue my file system and i have purchased Avery brand letter sized hanging files. I would like to print out the labels- but they are very small. is there any way to do this without a typewriter?

i need tot know how to print on those inserts! i mean is there a special template to use in microsft word or some kind of sheet of those inserts (or labels for those inserts) that has a template?

I have used the ms template on the labels before and found the whole thing just too much trouble.

Now I just use a regular wp program and type out my labels double space and cut and insert.

The problem with the labels is that some would come out high on the label and some would come out low and some middle it was annoying.

There are plastic inserts that slip into the top of the file. Along with the inserts are cards that you can use to type/print that go inside the insert. Have your tried this?
