Your printer should of came with a install disk. Just cancel and auto install programs and put the install disk in the cd rom and follow the prompts. If you dont have a disk goto www.hp.com click support/ select downloads/ search for your printer driver and download it.
Your getting a insert windows 98 prompt because it is seeing it for the first time and does not know where to look for the driver. Just cancel out of that and try what I said. If all else fails call customer support from a number at the hp site under contact us

try searching on hps website. it might be hard to find though because most companies do not support 98 anymore. good luck!
