a siege but its not exactly a blockade. a siege is when a city or fort is surrounded by enemy forces.or your forces have it surrounded. a blockade is what the navy would do to a port. for example. good examples would be....a siege..khe sahn(marine base) was under siege for over a month and suffered high casualties....blockade....what the u.s. navy did to cuba during the missile crisis to prevent missiles with nukes going to cuba from (then) u.s.s.r.....sorry for the long answer. they are similar but there is a small difference
