how can you tell if you female betta is ready because i dont know how it looks like. all i know now is that it has long strip lines on the side of her and she has a small whit thing under her belly...

You do have the smaller Betta right? Big colorful ones are males. Anyways, you need shallow water with like a piece of cart board floating on top. Throw in the male, watch them.... Put him in and out a couple times a day. Then leave him out, he would attack the female and hatch links if left in too long. Research more though.
