If you are attracted to someone of the same sex emotionally, but not physically...does that mean you're gay?

Not just an average friendship type attraction but actually loving the person.

I guess the question is: Is there a black and white line for everyone. Just like anything else, I don't think the experience is the same for everyone. I think for some the door swings both ways. And, I don't think it is a denial thing, I think it is just a scale and it depends on where you fall. If someone loves someone of the same sex doesn't mean they are automatically gay, especially if there is no physical attraction. I am guessing what you are talking about is more than that though. I would presume because the question is being asked, there is some speculation. Good luck.

Not quite. You could just be like kindred souls. It's when you act upon the attraction in a physical manner or want to, that you can consider yourself gay. Either way, no worries, love is a good thing. My best friend is a straight guy. We consider ourselves twin sons of different mothers.

? You wouldn't be attracted to someone emotionally, that would seem like an obsession. I understand what you are saying. Do you love your male best friend? No this does not make you gay. You are just very good friends, who have known each other for a while. Its not romantic love.

I don't think that means you're gay. I have a couple bi-sexual/gay girlfriends and I love them emotionally, but not at all attracted to them. Unless you envisioning being intimate with them, and even then it could be just curiousity, I think it just means you value her / him very much, they are important in your life, a FRIEND

being gay has more to it than just attraction.

can you imagine yourself with this person?

can you imagine spending the rest of your life with them?

can you imagine them in a sexual/physical way?

can you imagine kissing, touching, etc them?

can you imagine being in a long-term romantic relationship with them?

can you imagine being married to them?

^ ...etc, these are all the questions you should take in effect. if one or more of the answers to these questions are yes, then you are maybe.

you will know if you are gay or not as time goes on.

don't worry about it much.

no, you can be attracted to anyone emotionally. I think it is when you are attracted physically that you may be at least curious
