I was just curious if a flash drive wears out. I use my flash drive pretty frequently. If a flash drive wears out how long is it's guaranteed life before it becomes unusable?

depending on who made the drive it varies, I work for a memory manufacture and our product is designed to work for 10 years. It has many features built in to make sure it works that long, so the short answer is that it will probably never wear out while you are still using it.

I don't know anything man makes that doesn't wear out (somethings - especially radioactive may take longer, but....)

You'll have to look at the warranty on the box to get an idea for how long it should or shouldn't last.

Depending on it's use and travelling conditions it could last you a long time - definately longer than a floppy disk.

In theory yes.
Especailly older ones.
New ones are good for millions of read/writes , so the chances are small that they will where out.

In any case it is good to have a backup somewhere.

I hope this helps !

No. It will last a lot longer than a floppy disk. It will probably also last a lot longer than you!
