My alarm goes off (on the snooze button) approx 11 times before i get up, it's so difficult when the air is so cold outside and your bed is so warm. How do you get up it the morning?

Put your alarm across the room or hide it so you have to find it to turn it off.

Set your heating to come on an hour before your alarm goes off so you know the room will be warm when you get out of bed.

If you've got kids that need to be taken to school, then you don't have much choice but to get up as soon as the alarm goes off. You just have to ignore the cold but if you can't,then just imagine you're on a tropical beach with the sun beating down on you. If you have a good enough imagination then i guarantee, you'll soon be feeling warmer and you'll have forgotten all about how cold it is.

you need a reason.

I get up at 5AM every morning to feed the animals and have no problem with it, never resent it come rain, snow, hail etc.

Its just phycological. you are are probably already subconsiously resenting getting up before you go to sleep.

You turn the alarm off 11 times eh ? and your world keeps turning ? So you've no need to get up at the time you set the alarm, thats the problem. Either find a reason or move the alarm time

I have exactly the same problem. It gets to the point where i have to get up, or i'll be late for work. But i always always leave it to the very last minute!! My boyfriend is up at 6 everyday and when his alarm goes off, he literally jumps out of bed, and within minutes hes whistling/singing away to himself in a really good mood. God, i hate him sometimes!!

I thought that when I retired 2 months ago that I would start to love to get up in the morning. WRONG. Fact is that I love to sleep. But the last couple of days I am finding it a little easier to get up and out of bed by 9. Of course I get back into bed drink my 2 cups of coffee.

I had the same problem. If you don't have a coffee pot with a timer, buy one, they are not that expensive. Set your coffee pot so that it will be done dripping and ready the same time your alarm goes off. I started waking up before my alarm to the delicious smell of just-brewed coffee. Then, I enjoyed my ready-to-drink coffee so much, I started setting my coffee pot and my alarm a half-hour earlier in the a.m. so I would have time to just sit and enjoy my coffee with the tv. It totally changed my mornings from running late and being frantic to a much more relaxing a.m.

I set my alarm for 6:30am and get up at 7am, go to the bathroom and start running the hot tap, then go back to bed and cuddle my gf, keeping an eye on my alarm clock (it takes roughly 10 mins for the bath to reach the required level) then get back up and jump in the hot bath - and yeah, i whistle and sing when i get out which really annoys my gf.

I put the alarm clock on the other side of the room so I have to get up and turn it off. Works all the time.
