First of all, this answer is relying on the assumption that child support has already been ordered and the issue is not currently pending. Depending on the state in which you reside, you contact support enforcement and ask for a support review. The state will require both parents to submit their tax returns and their pay stubs. If you hire an attorney, or if the state is initiating the action on your behalf, you can also (through the discovery process) ask for a copy of all her bookings, clients appointments, records, and other business income and expenses, in addition to her bank account statements. These records should show this money she is not reporting to the IRS. If there are people that are directly "in the know" who are willing to say what they know under the penalty of perjury, get their declarations and file them with the court.
Also, if she is self employed but is not reporting income, you should report her to the IRS. This is fraud and she is not only harming you directly by altering your child support calculations, but harming all of us who are honest taxpayers.

I feel your pain man. My ex lied about how much I made and forged my signature on our original order for support, so I got f****ed for about six months; wage garnishment and all, but I got it back though. However, to answer your question find some reason to be at her house alone and try and dig through her financial records, or find out who does her taxes and say you need a copy of her W-2's for a loan, if your nice most people will help you out, or as a last resort call the IRS and report the *****. Good Luck!!

have the friend of the court subpeona her income info from her employer,
if she is self employed you are pretty much screwed,
my ex is a realtor and gets a 1099 and she tried to claim she only made like 13,000 a year, and I had the FOC subpeona her income from the agency she works for, needless to say she made a lot more that that.
not sure where you ive but in MI the court goes by your gross income before taxes. and most counties have thier own formula for computing child support.
There is legislation in the works to standardize the computing method on a national level.
I have been thru the same thing.

It would be tough especially if the difference is in cash. You could look at her bank account records but that would probably take a court order. Did you have any joint accounts when you were together that may show the $2000 a month income?

You can file a complaint with your child support enforcement agency and state your case. Of course, you have to have proof.
You can also file a claim with the IRS and use their investigation as evidence of your claim with support enforcement. Again, you'll have to have evidence.
(You can also contact your ex and let her know you're going to do these things and she should "do the right thing" first and save you the time.)
When you're finished, if your support enforcement agency is like mine, the change in income has to be substantial in order for you to get a reduction in support. The entire effort might be a waste of your tiime.

I understand. After 18 years of paying child support it is finally over. I worked for an Airline and saw alot of poloticians since we had non-stop flights to D.C. My question to them all were this. "When are you going to help us men out who pay child child support by taxing our wives for this as income". One the republicans I saw ever came back with a response either by mail or in person. They always said we'll look into it. Mr Clement a democrat would always hide when he saw me after the third time I asked him if he had an answer.

You can always request a life style through your local child support agency or the courts.

hmmmm... that means she isn't claiming all if hardly any of her tips... or at least thats what it sounds like. Tell her your sick of it and your gonna get a lawyer. If that doesn't make her change her mind about things then I really would. Or ask the friend of the court what you can do.
