Today while I was playing a game online, I froze on three seperate occassions, play was painfully slow before the big freeze. Exiting the site took forever...and getting back in took 7-8 mins on all three occassions...this happened to me yesterday and the day before as well....surely it cannot be my server causing the problems as I play at different times of the day with the same result.....When I go to a new room on the online game, it takes that long....that someone else is there and half way through a game.....What is happenening?
..No hair left
..ho@%@# from screaming
...run out of expletives
....reluctant to join a game

I have done a defrag.....We have EZ anti virus, which I think covers antispy ware..will check on that...and try another one...My kids have limewire on here and I blame that..but I am completely computer illiterate...could it be with limewire, others are downloading stuff off on my computer?

Memory shortage, everything downloaded to Limewire and kept in the library takes up memory, add more memory or dump all of that data !!

make sure limewire is not running in the background when you try to get on your game. if it is trying to download stuff and you are getting on a game at the same time - that will cause major delays. definitely do a virus scan because again - anything trying to connect to the internet at the same time you are will slow you down. just do some more cleaning too to be safe like delete temp internet files, cookies, history, and any other files/programs that you don't need. good luck!

It could defintley be Limewire. Limewire is a resource hog, it should only be run from time to time, and not be left online 24/7. To close it right click on the icon next to the clock and click exit.

Sounds like a software problem, rather than your actual computer hardware. What game were you playing? Limewire will certainly affect any on-line gaming experience as it will use much needed bandwidth. Shut it down before starting your game. Also exiting your anti-virus software will help.

Limewire may very well be the problem. However lets make the best of what we are dealing with right now. I talk about how to speed up your computer on my blog. I think you will find out it makes a difference.

Good Luck!

It is difficult if not impossible for somebody like you to figure out what is actually causing the problem. It is even hard for those of us with many years of data processing experience to locate the source of the problem but we have to find it because it is our job. If I was in your shoes, I would try to find some other game to play that does not cause so many problems or start off-loading unnecessary software.

I think there must have some regsitry errors and spyware in you PC to slow it down.
You need to try a registry cleaner to clean you PC.
Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer you create junk in the registry. You need to scan and clean your PC with registry cleaner. It is a powerful and useful tool to elinimate to the clutter and junk that builds up in your PC's registry from installing and removing programs, creating and deleting files and surfing online.Without regular system tune–ups, it's very likely your computer will slow, crash, full of error messages, leaving you with a costly computer–mechanic bill and lost data.
There are some comparison and review of registry cleaners

i think it could be you have 2 much software on ur computer that is useless and old like games that you dont play or old printers that youve still got on it that dont need 2 be on. u need 2 go 2 control panel and go 2 add/remove software and see what u do and dont want. be careful though cos u dont want 2 delete something u need like graphics. then defrag when u hav done this. after that resart ur comp. then see how u get on
