I am wondering if they will want the finer details such as wanting to know if you obtained a low or high second class degree. Has any one had any experience of this?

Usually they will not ask for this type of information. They'll be much more interested in knowing what courses you took. However, it's not unheard of for interviewers to ask such a question; sometimes it depends on the company or industry.

My best advice would to be prepared to answer this question, if asked. If you're concerned because you got a low grade in a class, determine how you will explain the situation before the interview, and make sure it's an honest answer. Whatever you do, don't say something like, "The teacher was a jerk." Make your response as positive as possible, such as, "At the time, I didn't see how important it was for me to succeed in that course. Now, because of [fill in the blank], I can see that I needed to be more focused and I wish that I had. The interviewer will appreciate your honesty, and that you're willing to take responsibility for your actions.

Best of luck! :)

I suspect you are writing this in a country outside the U.S., and it does vary by country, but here in the U.S. most employers don't need that kind of detail, although there are certain subject matters (as in accounting) where it does matter.

Employers usually do not ask for your GPA. It shouldn't matter, anyway. I would refuse to supply that information if I were asked, because it does not apply to my job performance.
