3-5 days is typical. But this sounds like more than a typical bruise. If you whacked yourself really hard, you could have bruised the bone, and that can hurt for weeks. Keep ice on it at any rate, and stay away from non-steroidal anti-inflammatories like Aspirin, Motrin and Naprosyn as these thin the blood and can make bruising worse. Tylenol is safe, if taken as directed.

Yeah, Ive Broken My Tailbone Before And I Took A Year To Heal. I Feel Your Pain It Is Really Hard To Cough, Sneeze, Or Sit Up Straight, But It Doesnt Hurt That Badly When I Walk. Since You Bruised It, It Might Take A Good Month Or Two To Heal. Good Luck, And Feel Better.

Well it all depends on how deep the bruising is. There are such things as pulled muscles, fractures, or even BONE bruises, but it is normal/expected for a regular bruise to be sensitive/sore for a few days after you've injured yourself in whatever location.

If it (the hurting) continues past about 3 days and is that painful, seek medical attention, to be safe and also to ease your mind. Good luck!

It can hurt 4 ages. I had a bruise that hurt 4 about 2 weeks but then it went down and turned yelow and for another 2 weeks it only hurt if i hit it accidently.

I'm an accident prone person and when I injure myself I give it rest, ice, elevation. Its when the pain is persistant and to put it the best way; ask yourself, "would I be able to go to work like this?" if the answer is no, go in and get it checked out.

depend on how deep the bruise is..if it got down to the bone, you can expect it to take a good week to feel fine..if not, a few days for the pain to subside...take some advil.

You'd best get to a doctor. I think you may have either ripped tendons or fractured your leg.
