I tried to replace the strings on my daughter's guitar. I didn't have any luck at all. I went to about.com/library guitar tutorial and the directions said to put the ball end of the string in the hole near the bridge. The guitar doesn't have a hole near the bridge. I'm new at this and don't understand the instructions. Any advice would be well appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

P.S.
When I look at the other strings I don't even see the ball part of the string to indicate how to insert the string.

if its an acoutstic then you need to pull the peg out of the bridge that holds the string in. the bridge is where the strings come out of...by where you strum. there are 6 little pegs with a ball on top holding the strings in pull that out. then put the ball end of the string into the hole and put the peg back in. the peg is slotted to allow the string to pass through it. make the the slot is facing the way the string goes to the tuners.

if its electric and has a whammy bar the the strings go in the back of the guitar. under the plastic backplate is the trem block. there are 6 holes. put the string in the empty hole ball end last! then make sure it goes through thehole correctly on the other side, just refer to how the other strings are placed. GOOD LUCK!

you put the new ones in like you took the old ones out. the last bar at the end will have holes in it. if its an electric, some enter from the back of the guitar. you cant put the ballend of the sting in the hole, as thats what keeps it from sliding all the way thru.

i hope you know what the bridge is?? right? anyway, theres a piece of wood that has 6 bents on it, when youre gonna change the strings you should actually put the respective string in its respective bent or hole. roll the string in the end of the guitar each one on each respective number of string.
