hi everyone, i have been trying to conceive for 18 months agin, and yet again im here with a pregnancy related question!! i understand that when you ovulate you get a discharge thats similar to like egg ehite yolk stuff. my cycle is 35 days roughly and so in theory i have all ready ovulated. has anyone had this sort of stuff when they've conceived? there is a lot of discharge, not painful/smelly etc just a lot of it. again, im sorry for TMI but im sure peeps out there who have been trying for a while, find little things that are not 'normal' that we get are hopes up over. any info would be very much appreciated, thankyou xx

It's called leukorrhea. It happens "because of increased estrogen production and greater blood flow to the vaginal area. This discharge is made up of secretions from the cervix and vagina, old cells from the walls of the vagina, and normal bacterial flora from the vagina."

It is also one of the many early pregnancy symptoms.

What goes up, must come down so to speak....it could be your discharge, or it could be sperm coming back out....the only true way to tell if your pregnant early on is a pregnancy test.

If you want to get pregnant, try relaxing and stop worrying about it and it will happen if there is nothing medically wrong with you.

A pregnancy test from the drug store is cheap. You only need one. Don't be rediculous and do 5. They also sell ovulation tests.

I honestly don't know if you are pregnant but I will tell you this...the symptoms include much more than a change in discharge. Nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, etc. When you have all of those, you are either pregnant...or drank to much the night before. lol. Good luck.

If you have a cycle of 35 days you ovulate around day 21 (14 days before your next period). It is true, you will notice discharge around this time that makes you feel 'wet', it is slimey like raw egg white & indicates you are about to start ovulating. If you feel inside for your cervix position at this time you will notice it is hard to reach, high up and soft. It is easier to detect by feeling for it when you are not ovulating & it is lower down inside & hard, like touching the end of your nose. If you monitor your basal body temp each morning before you get out of bed (same time each day) you will see it goes up when you ovulate or dips & then goes up. Once you have the conceived you can have an increase of discharge but it will be different to the sort when you ovulate. It may be milky in colour, with a mild but not offensive scent. It may be streaked white & clear. However I have a couple of times had discharge like this in the week before my period and thought it may be a sign of pregnancy but unfortunately was not. I hope you are luckier though, all the best!

ovulation is difficult to determine...not everyone ovulates at the Determined 14 days...I know ONLY when I ovulate because I have a cyst on the right ovary. However it is never at the same time during the month, I never get the EGG white discharge...I just got pregnant in Dec 06 - although my outcome was a loss - I do not usually get the discharge...the best way to determine ovulation is basal body temps and cervix placement...for information on this topic please visit us at www.ladiesplace.net...I am a moderator there and doing tons of research for just this topic...we are a board of just woman...feel free to register and get in on our fun, excitment and sometimes sorrow

I've read that you can tell when your fertile by the way your discharge is but you've got to know your body well and make note of it when your discharge changes. The way Ive worked out how to conceived - my cycle is 28 days and i always have discharge some times its clear and stretchy towards my period and then the next its egg white and alto of it after my period. Which i think is when your most fertile then.

I had this thick mucus, thats how I knew I was ovulating.

Now after my son things aren't normal. Plus I no longer ovulate so I can't go by that. I go to the Dr next week and hopefully they will get this straightened out for me.

Ash-Good luck
