Hi you can get out of it, but not without a cost, how much depends how much is left to run on your contract. You can contact the company and ask them how much the cancellation charge is, usually it is the remainder of your contract at your current tarrif so if its a relatively new contract it will be expensive.
If it is a brand new connection or upgrade, you usually get a cooling off period of a couple of weeks and if you cancel during that time all you have to pay is calls and texts etc.
If you want to break the contract because you can no longer afford to have it and you dont mind your credit score going through the floor, you can just stop paying the bills, you will be in breach of contract so they will diconnect you but beware they will still chase you for money through debt collectors.
Finally if you want to cancel because you are unhappy with the service, write them a very detailed letter of your complaints, stating that you want the contract cancelled, give them a time scale of when you want a reply (usually 2 weeks), put at the bottom cc trading standards. That will usually make them take notice and then send it recorded delivery.

It depends on the service provider that you have. Recently both Sprint and Cingular (AT&T) changed their text messaging pay-per-use rates which means that with those two service providers if push the issue enough you should be able to leave the company with out a early term. fee. The rates changed sometime this week I think and you only have a window of like 15-30 days to dispute this!
As with other serivce providers, be up front with them about the reason you are wanting to leave.
Service issues? SOMETIMES the serive provider will let you leave for lack of serivce in an area, sometimes because you are moving/ about to move.
Leaving the country? Same answer here, they will sometimes let you out without a D/C fee
In the militay? Most providers will let a member of the armed services off with their notice of being called to active dutiy
Continued phone issues? Again depends on your service provider and what type of customer you have been (ex. paying your bill on time, money you spend each month) If you are a good paying customer (never had your service interrupted due to non-payment) you maybe able to get a new phone
Best advise I can give, never get nasty with customer service or a sales rep in the local store they will be more willing to help you with any issues you have if you keep your temper under control, as well as bending the rules for you a bit because of how nice you are dispite all of the trouble you are having.
To tell the truth, if you come in to a retail store or call into customer service and have a nasty temper we (people that work for cell phone companies) are more likely to stick to the rules, because of the way we get treated. So, just be nice and you may get further than you think with them....Good luck! :)

You can get out early but it costs. E.G 5 months@£20=£100. pay £100 plus anything in the small print for ending your contract early & you are free to go. Expensive business innit? Sorry I cant give you better news!!!!!!

Great u have been saved it is possible 2 live without a mobile.also u have smashed it in time before yu get addicted to it so try keeping a landline so that others will share the burden of having to take all the crank calls'

I've done that before. Basically you have to pay them the line rental for the remaining months of your contract. Easy if its only cheap line rental but if not it can be expensive, also depending on how many months you have left.

u can pay any early termination fee of around 30 pound or just cancel the dirct debit and tell them u dont want the contract anymore my sister did that but id do it the proper way.

Stop paying your bill, and eventually they will disconnect you, agree to pay what you owe over the remainder of the months as long as they stop the line rental, then when you have finished paying cancel the contract.

i have been in this industry for nearly six years and it is nearly impossible to get out of contract without paying the network of for the amount of your line rental ,the only way i know is to prove that you have no coverage where you live or that they have broken the terms and conditons in some way which is almost impossible .if you just dont pay they will take you to court to get the money owed.any other questions or for more info please contact tim_futcher@yahoo.co.uk

I think that unless they have broken their side of the contract in some way you will have to pay for the remaining months rental. Check in your contract details or contact the place that you bought it from
