Adding on to the comment above, you can also buy the Baseball Prospectus books they sell on Amazon for like 14$ or something like that. I like to buy a bunch of those fantasy baseball magazines maybe 2 or 3 a month, sit down and read all the opinionated articles and rankings. When you compare them it is cool to see all the rankings. What you really have to do though is choose a sports columnist, and try to read all the articles he has on the subject. If you feel he or she shares the same views as you do, then you'll find everything you need.

Baseball Prospectus is a good site with a ton of statistics. It's subscription based though.

It really depends on the sport and the format that is set up.
I use ESPN for baseball and football
I use CBS Sportsline for basketball and hockey

baseballhq.com.... more stats than you know what to do with.... I just downloaded 15 different spreadsheets from previous history to 07 projections..... amazing site.
