In your opinion, do you think a law should be made requiring drivers to retake the driving test every 5 or 10 years?

I do not think every 5-10 years there should be a requirement, however, I do believe if you are blamed for an accident and it amounted to a certain amount of points or you are charged with a DUI you should go through a driving class and pass the test and any further traffic violations would be considered a violation and further driver education and evaluation would be taken.

That being said - yes. A person who is given the responsibility of operating machinery that can kill people should be required to prove their competency on a regular basis.

It should be ANNUAL after age 65.

and the DL should be tied to immigration status.

Even as a lawyer, or maybe because I'm a lawyer, I'd say no. If a person has a safe driving record, I don't see why they should have to re-take the driving test. I would be ok with making persons with too many violations take the test again. I doubt that re-taking the test will turn someone into a safe driver, though.

yes, as a pilot who is constantly checked, reviewed, and rechecked I think the minimum should be a 5 year evaluation for drivers .

pilots do it (depending on curcumstances ) as often as every 3 months,

the longest we can legally go is 2 years without a flight review.

Its a privlidge, not a right!

Not every 5-10 yrs.... But I do think we should retest people at certain ages in their lives.... more like 65, 70, 75....etc

That's a good thought.
It's amazing to me how many people forget to pull to the right so they can make their right hand turn. Too many idiots slow down in the middle of the lane, almost to a stop, and then shoot around the corner.
