I have a house morgage it's $585.00 a month. I work at a deaf school, however, it doesn't pay well. I had to drop out of communty college because I can not afford it. I had just got a part time job at Lowe's, but I don't start that job until Feb 1st. Right now what I bring home from the deaf school is about $1000.00 a month. Can anyone please give me some good advice? I'm up to my neck.

Good advice can be had if the person giving it has enough information. Pay the mortgage, and move forward. I assume that you will be doing two jobs, if so pay an additional $15 a month on the mortgage. Keep all expenses down to nothing. Take your friends to diner at your house, and have them bring the drinks. You can spring for movies. (splurge on a VCR or DVD)

Let me commend you on your efforts to own a home! There are only two ways to pay your bills. 1. Earn more money. 2. Spend less. You have already taken steps to earn more money. I would encourage you to cut any unnecessary bills, as has already been suggested. I have been out of high school for less than 10 years and already own a $350,000 home and four rental properties. How? Cutting unnecessary expenses and avoiding debt. No car payments, no cable, limited eating out, etc. Avoid debt like a disease and you will do all right! In the long-term, it will help you be able to help more people, like you are already doing at the deaf school. Good luck!

I know finances can be hard. Is there any way you could save money??? For Ex: Cut back on eating out, If you have cable, can you do without, if you have a cell phone can you go to a different plan that will help you save money??? Just try and think of ways you can cut back to save, If I were you I would write down anything and every thing that you spend money on, and evaluate it, and see where you can save!!! Try and put your needs before your wants. Also if you have the time, ebay is a good way of making extra money. Good Luck!

The best financial advice I have read is by Ramsey. Read either book: The Total Money Makeover or FInancial Peace Revisited. He gives you a plan to save money, get out of debt (if you have other debt besides the house), and how to save, etc. He lays out a very simple and easy to follow plan.

His plan has helped us a ton.

Good luck and happy reading!

let us see you work 40hrs week for 1000$ mth?
do you love your job? cause you are doing it for nearly free. the airlines tell you to put the air masks on yourself first - there is a reason. if you can't support your self you an't support any one. reassess why you work for so little.
Lowe's is p/t what about delivering pizza the night not at Lowe's about(500 -700$ mth) or newspapers. neither are for ever, just until you can geta cash reserve and better jobs - education.
