That's easy; make sure you don't lead him on, first of all. Be friendly, and don't push him away because of your suspicion, but don't be touchy-feely or anything like that.
Also, show interest in other guys when you're around your friend; maybe stare at guys that you like, and make a subtle comment about how cute someone sitting near you is. This will probably hurt him if he really likes you, but this way, he'll get a hint, and he can deal with it without the embarassment of being turned down by you.
Also, don't let this affect your friendship, although if he feels awkward about it, it'll be hard to keep your friendship intact. Don't call him out directly about his crush; you could be wrong, after all.

That's is a tough situation. All you can do is try to tell him that he is a special friend only to you. Even joke about it and try to cheer him up. If there's a guy you like, ask for his advice and thank him and try to help him find someone too.
Even discuss with him that you only want him as a friend. He will be hurt, but he will appreciate your upfront attitude about it. The difficulty is that as long as there is any sort of chance that you could be with him, he will try to cling on deeply to the outside chance that you might change your mind.
The only thing you can do is to constantly emphasize that you only like him as a friend. It will annoy and maybe upset him, but it will help him heal. By not saying anything or not reminding him that you two are only friends, he will begin to internalize his deep, romantic feelings of longing for you.
It is important that you veer him away from those quixotic thoughts. If he doesn't get the hint after that, you will have to take more drastic measures which could ultimately lead into your friendship with him to end until he has recovered from his broken heart.
After he gets over you; I mean, really get over you, he will be able to resume a friendship with you.

well bring up a conversation that you like guys that are for example hispanics and he is white or black, or green eyes and he has black eyes, and maybe later you can say that you have a boyfriend, lie to him he'll get of your back for a couple of weeks and the you can set up your friend with some girl.. or you can say that you love him like a BROTHER !!! that helps a lot.

You can pull him aside and tell him OR you can actually say one day "im really glad you are my best friend right?!"
That might put a thought in his head, from that perspective he should tell you he likes you or he might keep his friendship with you.

Keep telling your friend that they are a good friend. Never refer to them being a boy or girl friend. If you keep saying "My friend" then they will get the idea.
If they ask to be your boy/girl friend then you have to tell them that you consider them to be JUST a friend.

Tell him NOW. The sooner the better - because the longer it goes the more you will hurt his feelings.

If he says he "likes" you then just tell him that you like him too but you want to just stay friends becuase relationships ruin friendships. and you cherish your friendship more.
