well my mam is planning to leave her abusive boyfriend after 4yrs with him she has only recently come to me and told me what he is like i never new but always thought there was something bad about him she is scared he will come after her she has 3 young children (not to him)my question is do you think its better to try and move him out with the police or just to leave when he is at work .and has anyone been through this that can give me some advice to help her.i never new it was as bad as it is until now but any advice would be great

She should contact the police and then move out while he is gone with their presence near by. Then if he tries anything stupid he will be staring into the barrel of a 44 cal. Unless of course she is doing it for attention, then she can stage a good show and get her teeth bashed in by her nutcase boyfriend.

Have the police there just in case he gets wind that she is moving out and decides to show up.

If she doesn't want to give up her home, it is best to get a restraining order. If she goes to her local court house they will grant her one. They have discounts for low income people also. If her bf tries to go against this order he will find himself in jail for a very long time. Low Income Housing Authorities will also help her and her children relocate if needed. (Section 8 or HUD Housing)

i think the police should be involved- she should file a police report
