it was a pretty good movie if you don't try to compare it to the book..You know the books are always better and this was no exception..However,if you just want to see a cool dragon movie, you will like it..

if you read the book, you'll want to shoot something when you get home.
If you didn't, you'll say, "aww, it was okay..."
It's not going to win any awards, and you wouldn't want to watch it twice.
There are better movies out there right now. If your interest is piqued about eragon, wait until you can rent it.

Everyone I asked said it sucked. Big time. But they also read the books. I heard that the movie butchered the book, so maybe that's why they didn't like it. But I'll go see it for graphics, if anything else. I know not to expect something great. :)
You could also look under Yahoo Movies if you want to see thousands of reviews and opinions on movies if you didnt already know. :)

I didn't. I should have. Instead I listened to my friends and the bad critics they gave it. Its not the first time I've done that and I've regretted it every time. I might happen to like a movie that they pooh-pooh. We have different backgrounds and cultural references and what doesn't appeal to them might bring back good memories to me.
I'll read the book and rent the DVD.

any program with dragons, unicorns and fairies has my attention and i adored Eragon and so did the kids i was babysitting that day, ages 8 & 9 years of age !

It was alright. The changed the story around quite a bit and tried to put too much into a short movie.

I thought about it, but I don't plan to. Books to movies aren't ever that good, so i'll just save my money and time. Won't even watch the sequel or it on DVD.

I didn't read the book...but I enjoyed the movie, and it wasn't confusing because I hadn't read the book, It was quite enjoyable;)

dont read the book and you'll go----"Meh... it was good.... not great"
