If it is a clothes dryer, the heating element cycles on and off to keep the temperature in the right range. Heating elements are either bad or good. There is also a high limit switch that will overheat if the vent is clogged. Try to make sure you are gettair air flow out of the vent.

1st unplug the dryer clean all the lent trapped in the back and the bottom of the dryer. that should help, if it still has the problem it might be the heating element (might have to have it replaced)

one major problem overlooked is to check to see if the vent from the back of the unit is clogged with lent.....this will cause a unit to stop heating( its a safety design in the unit)...check to see if any obstructions in the vent on either end.....

Either you have the wrong plug, the fuse is gone or the element is bad. Best have a repair person look at it.

it's overheating. try to keep it further away from your head when you dry it. you could be muffling and basically suffocating the dryer with so much hair.
hope this helps.
