He has never called for the extinction of Israel for one, he merely said the government is corrupt and needs to be cleaned up and changed. Yet I read on Yahoo and AP that he has repeatedly said this. Strange?

Comments attributed to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian President, saying he wanted to see Israel "wiped off the map" were taken out of context, according to his foreign minister.

Mottaki: Ahmadinejad remarks referred to Israeli regime

Manouchehr Mottaki, the Foreign Minister, told reporters in Brussels on Monday: "Nobody can remove a country from the map. This is a misunderstanding in Europe of what our president mentioned."

Speaking in English, after addressing the European Parliament, Mottaki said that comments from Ahmadinejad made in October referred to the current Israeli regime which Tehran does not "recognise legally".

Ahmadinejad caused a storm of condemnation after Iran's official IRNA news agency quoted him as telling a conference: "Israel must be wiped off the map".

Well because Bush needs some reasons to attack Iran...and what better tool in making the people believe that Iran should be attacked then the media...Presenting Ahmadinajd as a mad man,who wants to destroy US and Israel makes people believe that Bush has a reason to attack Iran, before they attack US...

I read that the correct translation is that he wants the regime in Jerusalem removed from the page of time. Is this different from wiping Israel off the map? I don't think so.

He called for Israel to be wiped off the map... unless Al Jazeera misquoted him. I mean Al Jazeera is such a right wing organization.

Strange, your propoganda holds no validity.
