Confidence definitely plays a role in one's friendships. If your quiet then you have a hard time expressing yourself and your confidence. If "being yourself" is more quiet, then how do you gain and show your confidence so people will want to be around you more?

You don't have to be loud to be confident.

I'm an extrovert. I'm a loud person. But I definitely have had problems with my confidence. I used to compensate for my lack of confidence by getting louder, but it just made me look like a fool.

My boyfriend is a very quiet guy. His quiet speaks more volumes than my loudness ever could. People respect him instantly.

Here's the thing: Introversion has long been treated as a personality flaw. Quiet people are seen as suspicious, like they are hiding something. In fact, introverts are often taught how to "overcome" their introversion and be more extroverted, as if introversion was a disease.

The reality is that quiet people are quite normal, but because they aren't outspoken, their perspectives aren't often heard. Therefore, people think that quiet people aren't confident.

So, don't worry about being quiet affecting your confidence. The most confident people I've met are often the quietest. :)

Invite friends to anything that showcases your individual talents. Most likely your confident in your strengths. Let others see you at you best-they'll see your confidence even if it's not being the loudest of the group.

Confidence does not have to be loud. It simply means being sure of yourself and not letting yourself be walked over.

i have a problem like that too. i'm quiet around new poeple at first but once i get to know them i'm almost obnoxious. some people say i'm just really shy but it's not that. i just don't know what to say. exude confidence in your posture, your walk, and the couple things you do say.. say things more matter of factly
