A trailer(1) is something you hitch to the back of your truck. It can be something simple (like a trailer for moving horses or autos), or something more complex (like a very small apartment).
A mobile home(2) is a smaller home that you place on a lot that you'll probably either buy or rent (mobile home parks). They'll put it on a base (like cement basing). They call it a mobile home because you can decide to move to another place, they can raise it off that base and load it on a truck (or trucks if you have a two-section mobile home) and bring it to the new lot/city.
And finally there are RV's (3) (or what I call "motor homes"). These are basically like buses built to be apartments that you can move. You can drive them around freely, and they have RV parks at which you can rent a spot and live (or you can set it up outside your own home ... if you want to, for some reason, maybe as a small guest house). It has plumbing and electricity, so basically everything you'd need to survive.

They could be the same, depends on where you live. In some parts of the country a "house trailer' is often called a mobile home. Both have wheels, can be hauled to a site and parked, hooked up to utilities and people live in them.
Manufactured home are similar, but they are normally haulead to the building site, hooked up to utilities etc. The wheels used to move them are then removed.
If you want to add to the confusion, another type of trailer is called a RV (Recreation Vehicle) and they are used most often by people that use them as weekend get away places that can be hauled behind a pickup, van, or large car.

Trailer: A furnished vehicle drawn by a truck or automobile and used when parked as a dwelling or office.
Mobile home: A large house trailer that can be connected to utilities and can be parked in one place and used as permanent housing.
Soo a trailer is taking ''your home'' with you when you go traveling for a weekend or more where as a mobile home is your home that when you move instead of looking for a new house you take your house with you.
Good explaination?????

When trashy people buy a mobile home and run it down, it's referred to as a trailer.
At least that's how it is where I'm from.
Old folks live in mobile home communities, whereas rednecks live in trailer parks.

OK seriously, a trailer has a steal frame underneath it, so to be moved, axles, and a hitch are bolted on the frame then its towed by a big truck. a mobile home just has a wooden frame, so a special trailer is needed to move it. with out the extra steal frame most mobile homes have higher ceilings. (they have to be under 14' to fit under power lines)
there the only right answer.

A mobile home is delivered to a location, and is in it's location permanetly. A trailer is the same thing. They can be moved, but are usually not, because they are hooked up to sewer systems, etc. and are cheaply made and always decrease in value.

None, it just depends on where you live to how you say what it is. if you wanted to get really technical a trailer is something you tow behind your car and a mobile home is something you live in.
