I have to make a board game for Biology. It has to be about DNA.

ok it has to have some educational value, and about DNA not heredity or genes. stuff like tranforming and replication.

The shape of the path could be DNA shapped with squares.. The end of the game is a complete human being.. Depending upon the squares you land on determines your sex and traits..If you land on a "bad" box your human will have a bad gene that may produce a health problem.. so at the end..you will have a list of traits to build your person..Good question

Sounds like a cool project!

How about this... everyone starts off with a hand of cards that make up their 'DNA'. These cards give your 'species' different traits, survivability, etc. Then, you've got two decks of cards, one called 'Traits' and another called 'Events', and a board with the different spaces asking the people who land on them to draw new 'Traits' or swap one of your own with another player, or draw an 'Event' card.

'Trait' cards could contain stuff like Camoflauge, natural defenses, warm/cold blooded, etc. or even genetic anomalies/defects/diseases to weaken the species' chances of survival.

Have 'Event' cards talk about changes in your species' environment; for instance, if a player lands on a spot that asks you to draw an Event Card, the player does so and their species suffers or advances based on what it says (ie. "ICE AGE: Non-Mammal species go back two turns/Mammal species go forward two turns"). The object of the game is to get to the end of the board first by having the most competitive and diverse species. You can even assign positive and negative points to the different cards and at the end of the game tally them to see who has won!

you could take a connect 4 game and put designs to represent partial DNA strands on the little tokens and try to drop them 4 in a row to create a perfect DNA sequence.

lol fast, cheap, easy and gives you room to work with more ideas involving the DNA of one person mixing with another to make a new sequence.

Evolution!

Players throw dice to take evolutionary steps. The first one to evolve from an A to a B wins. The dice has numbers from 1 to 5 and a joker. The joker gives a random change.

How about collect the nucleotides...

alternate the nucleotides around the board... if you land on one you can pick it up and match it to the 1/2 strand of DNA you already have... the first to complete their DNA wins...

Something with "Shoots and Ladders" like:

Chromatids and DNA, where chromatids are the slides and DNA used for the ladders. (they look like spirally ladders, anyway)
