I have already lost the weight that I gained while pregnant with my son. He is 8 wks now. I am breastfeeding exclusively so that helps to burn roughly 500 calories per day. Now comes the tricky part. I am trying to lose a bit more than that, I am currently at 145lbs, and 5'6" tall. I have to make sure I do some type of cardio to burn some fat calories several times a week. I know that if I don't eat healthy, and do something to burn some fat, then the scale will stay right where it is. The weight I am trying to lose now is weight that I had put on before my daughter was born 3 1/2 years ago. Oh, I am 25 currently.

I think breastfeednig helps a lot. I was back in my clothes about a month after my first and about 2 months with my second. I also think having my kids young, 19 with 1st and 21 with 2nd) helped and of course being a stay at home mom helps too, always running after someone =) I actually got down to a 3 after my daughter and have gotten down to a 5 since my son was born. Everyone is different and no matter how long it takes it id well well worth it!

I weighed 105 before I got pregnant. When I had my baby in November I weighed 155. It has been 2 months now and I weigh 130. You aren't supposed to exercise the first 6 weeks after the baby. I just started to exercise. Don't stress so much about the weight. In time you will lose it. I know for me it is hard not to look at other girls and feel bad about myself. I have been told that jogging and sit ups really help a lot.

First off, How difficult the weight is to get off, will depend on how you gained it. If you ate healthy and gained the baby weight at normal pace or if you gained alot of excess weight by eating too much junk and weren't active. I did pretty good with my pregnancy. I started out at about 140lbs and by the time the baby was born I was at about 190lbs. (keep in mind too that my baby was past due) so I gained about 50lbs. When my daughter was born she was 10lbs! Because I had a C-section my recovery was slow and didn't exercise much. I mainly did alot of walking and managed what I ate. I got back to my pre baby weight in about 6mos. But like I said, it will vary alot from person to person, how long it takes. My suggestion is (weather permitting) take walks around your neighborhood with your baby. This is also a great way to meet other moms! If the weather is bad, there are plenty of exercises you can do like walking up and down stairs, pilattes, and there are tons of videos for new moms, if that's your thing.
As for "diet" I ate alot of fish and vegetables. What also helps me to keep in mind, is that my habits are the example my daughter will follow. Hope this helps!

I had my first at 21, my second at 26 and my third at 33 and all three times I was back to my pre preggo weight within 3 months. Getting back into my old jeans was another story though. Just because you weigh the same doesn't mean everything falls where it used to be.

Interestingly I gained less as I got older 29 lbs with #1, 20 lbs with #2 and 12 lbs with #3 (yes we were both healthy I just didn't gain much weight)

i had not lost any weight, but I wasnt doing anything about it..I am still 50 lbs over my pre pregnancy weight but a few days ago I just started a great diet program in my area and now am on my way back to losing it all! I lost 3 lbs this week! Yay! I am 21 and the diet consists of basically eating healthy, meat only 2x a week, no fried foods at all, plenty of chicken fish and veggies. And lots of water!

I was 28 when I had my son and I gained 60 lbs!!! It actually took me about 9 months to even start and lose the weight...I think I just got comfortable and depressed at the same time. I tried going to the gym consistently, but my gym's childcare requires an appointment for kids who don't walk....so it was very hard actually making it at the time I chose. Anyway, I started Weight Watchers online and I lost the weight in about 4 months. I was really shocked at how quickly it came off. I liked it b/c you could do everything online-count points, point calculator, recipes etc. and I didn't have to go to the meetings(which I didn't have time for anyway!). I also started Pilates at the same time and that helped tone up my core. Good luck!

I used to weigh 100 lbs before my second baby was born . I gained 18 lbs when pregnant. After my delivery I shrunk to 90 lbs and that was the best weigh I ever had in my entire life. I was light as a feather . Now 30 years later I am 145 lbs and I cann't seem to lose any lbs.

they say it takes the same amount of time 9months but drink a lot of water, breastfeed, walk everyday, the hardest thing is the skin that gets stretched not the weight, it also has to do with your age i have 5 kids, after the first 3 i was in shape in 3-4 months now I'm 39 and have a four month old its a little tougher, but it's all up to you but it's discouraging when you get home give yourself a month or two before you even let yourself think about it, but drink a lot of water it will help in more then one way
