My driver's licence was suspended for unpaid fines.(expired registration, insurance) I am in the process of paying the fines at various courts. When they are paid off where do I go to get my licence back?

I can't give an answer specifically for CA, but you will have to pay your court fees as well as an additional reinstatement fee that the Department of Public Safety will most likely issue. Contact a driver evaluater at the DPS/DMV, and they will let you know what the fee is. You should then be able to get your license back. Again, i'm sure this varies by state, so the process might be slightly different in CA then it is where I am at. Here is the website with contact info: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/contacts/contacts.htm

Anyway i hope this helps!

After all is paid for, you will probably have to be retested again at the driver's license bureau.

If you can't pay the fine, stay off the road, and take the bus.

You will go back to the DMV and have to pay a reinstatement fee.
