Have it reupholstered. He'd never do that to a newly upholstered settee!
If that does not sound right to you, then
#1 Don't say anything to him, and then you won't hurt his feelings. Verrrrry important!
#2 Find a nice jar or a pot with a lid on it and hide it somewhere
#3 For every week that he leaves his socks behind, put $6 into the jar for yourself ..and don't give it to anybody!
#4 When he stops leaving his socks, you
will have to stop putting away money for
yourself. Sniff, sniff! But, he will still be smiling ... and that is important because he is your guy!
{p.s. Always reward yourself for hardships endured!}

Chunk them in a pile on the floor by the washer. My fiance would pull his off after working all day, or worse, fishing, and after a couple of days, this horrible smell would come out of the living room. When I looked there was socks all over the small bookcase in one of the shelves on the bottom. I never even thought to look there. When he starts b!tching about where his socks are, point and give him some Tide. Worked for me, I never had to do his laundry after he kept leaving it on that damn bookcase.

Put all his socks in a bag and hide them. Buy one pair of girlie socks for him to wear. When he asks where his socks are, tell him that you are holding them ransom until he can learn to put his socks in the dirty clothes bin like everyone else.
Until he complies (coz he'll moan) tell him he can have a week of wearing the girlie socks and if he's a good boy your'll give the manly socks back to him, once he learns how to behave himself!
Good luck

One day, after picking up my hubby's socks for the zillionth time, I told him, if he didn't put his own socks in the hamper, they wouldn't get washed. And as hard as it was to NOT pick them up, I didn't, and to this day, they still only get washed if it makes it into the hamper. If they are in your way on the settee, just push them to the floor.

Take all his socks and hide them. Put the dirty ones (using marigolds) in the rubbish bin. He will soon learn. He should have more consideration and respect for you, then subjecting you to his horrible sweaty socks!! Tell him if he cant be bothered to put them into the laundry bin, then you will keep throwing them away. He will be sock-less, not so great in this weather. Good luck.

easy peasy there must be some item of clothing that you have that he does,nt like all you have to do is put that on the settee where he puts his socks. if you have,nt got something he does,nt like go and get a pair of droopy draws or something like that he will stop if he does,nt like what you put there

Stop picking them up. Although he's inconsiderate for doing it even though you've told him not to, you're at fault for enabling his behavior. The only way he'll learn to pick them up is if his substitute "mommy" stops doing it for him.
If he ends up piling them up on the settee, then I suggest you tell him you're going to throw them away. If he still doesn't pick them up, throw them away.
