I think that what Kathy is saying is that it is not P.C. to make fun of someone who is gay, but making fun of fat people seems to still be acceptable. And that is basically true. You can still turn on many sitcoms where really degrading fat jokes are commonly told, but if they were degrading gay jokes, the word homophobic would be used and you would hear about it as fast as when Michael Richards used the racial slur.

As far as I'm concerned it is NOT. I have been over weight all my life and I think it is mean and hurtful for somebody say look at that fat person. If anything I think gay or lesbian is a whole world better than "f@g" or "f@ggot"; now those people say that because they are wanting to intentionally inflect pain just like skinny people want to on a plus size person when they say fat or another hurtful name for someone that is not the "ideal size".

It depends on the kind of person...Some people are okay with it because they know that their fat or gay, Some people get offended very easily...But either way don't risk calling them that, 1 its rude, 2 you might get your a s s kicked, and 3 well let them live their life.

It's not okay to be called fat or gay. But I suppose, from a nuetral standpoint, being "fat" is something you can fix with diet and exercise, but "gay" is something that can't be fixed, even with a lot of electroshock therapy.

It's not ok to be called fat. Although I'm having trouble gaining weight my mom is overweight & "fat" is not a nice word. I don't like the word overweight either
