Someone sent me a blank email that I had to download something to read it and my foolish self did just that. All of the sudden, my computer shut down and a blue screen came up telling me that Physical Memory Dump Complete.

I then manually shut off my PC and when it came back, everything was messed up so I ran my anti virus program and it found a Trojan worm it was able to block. Although, my computer now keeps going to that blue screen name every 25 minutes or so and I don't know how to stop it.

Is there anyone out there who knows about this virus or whatever it is and can help me get rid of it?

Michael

First, How do you know that? and second that cannot happen with adequate antivirus properly update. If its a recent Trogan, You can use SYSTEM RESTORE. to rid of it. That because Trogans are part of the Registry and SYSTEM RESTORE restores the Registry to an earlier date

Go to Start, then Programs, then Accesories, then System and finally SYSTEM RESTORE. pick a date prior to the Trogan problem

To keep it clean You need a current antivirus. You might have Mcaffee on there and that is old and nonfunctional. Try the free AVG antivirus, its a German company offering it free and its equal or better in my opinion to Mcaffee or Norton. www.freegrisoft.com

Also use Anti spy ware that is needed in addition to Antivirusl Use the free one here again, SpyBot its on the net.

Goto the web site in sources and download the free home users anti-virus program. When you start it for the first time set it to do a through scan. Then let it scan your computer and isolate the virus. I dont even use payed antivirus programs anymore this service is really good and it is free

your anti-virus software didn't delete the trojan? you need to download ad-aware and run that. if that doesn't help, go to trend micro's housecall website(not sure of the exact address) and scan your computer from there. if you still have the trojan, you might have to reformat your computer. make sure you copy all your programs and files first. good luck!
