My teacher keeps using the word abundance in a lot of her questions but it doesn't seem to make sense. For example "Does the percentage by which the abundance of parent atoms changes during each trial approximately correspond to predicted by theory??" This question makes no sense to me!

Its the relative quantity available. That is how much of it can you find as compared to other quantities.

She probably means "amount" or "number"
