Working Distance and Parfocal Length
A good microscope is designed to be parfocal, within a small tolerance level. Parfocality is only correct at the
appropriate image plane of the microscope (intermediate image plane = 10mm below the seat of the eyepiece)
Therefore, you will want to set your eyepieces very accurately to that plane
