Some of my coworkers seem to think so, but I feel with Babel on there, it can't REALLY be racism.

No, not everything is about racism, I know people who saw that movie and they said it was NOT that good.

No. I think the academy always forgets about the movies from Jan-Sept for all the categories. They always seem to just nominate the movies from the last few months of the year. They also seem to go out of their way to nominate minorities for the acting categories. That is fine, but I think that the best performances and movies should be nominated. Regardless of the race of the people being nominated. And also, I think that they should not have movies competing against each other. I mean come on! Three songs from Dreamgirls? Surely there must be songs from other movies that deserve to be nominated?

no i dont think so... just because some performances are good and honored with some awards doesnt mean that the entire movie was that great to be nominated.... besides, the academy isnt famous for liking A LOT musicals... just some of them get the best picture nomination.
