It will probably be better to go to an optometrist. They will make sure you get one to fit your eyes.

I recently came across this problem b/c I wanted to give colored lenses a try, too. For some reason the FDA requires that the brand/make of the contacts is on your prescription. So you do need to get the doctor to write you a script for them.

Most colored lenses have a "normal" curvature. I found that my colored lenses were not very comfortable b/c my base curve was off a little.

Either way, when you do get the prescription, you may want to try www.1800contacts.com Their prices are very reasonable and there is also free shipping when you spend over $50 (or some like amount).

Also, going on the actual manufacturer's website will get you free coupons for a trial pair of their lenses, but you have to bring it to your optician / optometrist. Try Freshlook.com and Acuvue.com

I got mine from the optometrist. He let me have a trial pair before I bought them to see how I liked them. I'm glad he did, because I had a lot of trouble with them. It may seem to cost more that way, but I would rather put out some money and get the right fit, than risk injuring my eye.

yes go to an optometrist, cuz if you buy some from where you just put your prescription like on line and they dont fit you well, that's not going to be good. if you go to eye doctor they give you a trial pair before they order the real pair to make sure they fit you well and those are the right ones for you eyes.

Most all contacts come in different colors but you should really go to the eye doctor and get fitted properly. If you already wear contacts, they probably make the exact contact you wear only in different colors. I wear Dura-soft Opti fit torics because my eyes are shaped like FOOTBALLS and they finally came out in colors in them but way to expensive for me. Good-luck bright eyes.

When I ordered mine, all I did was pick the color and brand, and send the prescription with it. Thats it. I didn't ever have to bother with all the technical information. That was awhile ago, but I don't think its changed that much. Also, your prescription does have to be for contac lenses and it has to be within 1 year old.

If you have a baseline you probably have astigmatism and need to order the colored contacts for astigmatism.
