I'm guessing a pushchair is what we call a stroller. You can use an umbrella stroller once your child is able to sit on their own, and they fold down pretty small.

I had this problem as well. I have a ford ka and I bought a mamas and papas mpx, the carrycot part fits in my boot and I put the wheels in the front seat. I had air wheels on my pram for my first baby and there was no way it fitted with out putting the back seats down and the baby in the front. When I was expecting my second the new car seat laws came out and I tried to get my husband to buy me a new car, to which he laughed hysterically! I went to my local pram shop and we tried lots of different pram and eventually found one that fitted, which was the mpx. Good Luck!
