My OB only gives two ultrasounds unless you have complications. I am 10 weeks and already had 1 u/s and have to wait until I am 20 weeks for my next one.

I will find out at 20 weeks if my baby is a boy or girl.

How many weeks were you when you found out you baby's sex?

I found out at about 19 weeks. The US said I was earlier than I was so I had to go back 2 more times after.

I had ultrasounds every week or two weeks because I was a high-risk pregnancy...but at 19 weeks we TRIED to find out the sex and the technician said it looked like it might be a girl but that she couldn't really see well enough. My baby was a VERY stubborn little brat and didn't fully reveal that she WAS in fact a girl until I was 27 weeks.

Sometimes, if you're lucky and the baby cooperates, you can tell as early as 18 weeks (some say earlier even), but sometimes the baby isn't in a position where you can really tell, so you might just have to wait till they're born!

Congrats!

20 weeks is pretty much the average time when people find out the sex of the baby.. because like your doctor, most doctors only give about 2 ultrasounds.

I was also 20 weeks when I found out my son's sex. This time around, I may be able to find out sooner since I'm a high risk pregnancy (pregnant with twins) and so I get a lot more ultrasound.

I found out at 18-1/2 weeks! She's a little girl!
Wait until you see how big your baby has gotten! 10 weeks is a little Jelly bean compaired!
It's an amazing thing. Be sure to include you husband (or significant other). Look at him and hold his hand. I've had a 10 wk, 14 wk, and 18-1/2 week ultrasounds, and on the 14 week one, I forgot to even acknowledge my husband because I was so excited myself!

I was 17 weeks. I don't get why here, in US, are usully done only one or two ultrasounds during pregnancy. In my home country you would also have one around 34 weeks to check if there is enought of fluid and if the baby is growing properly. For me they found at 34 weeks that the baby has right kidney diletation and might need a surgery after he is born, if I didn't have that ultrasound, they would never find out....

I had an ultrasound done at 16 weeks...and found out we were havign a little boy. We had another ultrasound done at 20 weeks (level 2 ultrasound), and then it was confirmed that we were havign a boy.

Depending on the equipment used and the abilities of the tech, it is possible to determine the gender as early as 13 weeks...but if your doctor does not offer another ultrasound until 20 weeks, then you are goign to have to wait until then

Good luck and congrats! :)

My doctor is the same way! But somehow my appointment was a week earlier and we just found out this past Tuesday (19 weeks 2 days) that we are having our second daughter!!!

It may seem like 20 weeks is a long time from now but it will be here before you know it!

Congrats & Good Luck!

We have ultrasounds every visit but they don't tell you until 18-22 weeks. My last appt I was 15 weeks. This time I will be 19 weeks and hoping to find out if the baby cooperates.
