I saw 3 commercials for the Super Bowl already. I was wondering how come they don't advertise Baseball, basketball, or hockey, like they do football?

Because football is more of an "event" with Americans and their families than any other sport. It's less about the game for the general pop and more about the things that surround the game ie: tailgating, parties, drinking, etc. Basketball, Baseball, etc isn't really that type of sport that you can rally around. Don't get me wrong, I'm a real sports fan, I love them all, but there is a reson why my mom watches the Super Bowl and not the World Series...it's all about atmosphere and the idea of a certain kind of "good time" that doesn't involve really even watching the game.

First of all, baseball. Americas favorite pasttime, 60 years ago. All the players do now is pump juice, so it is unpopular. Basketball, You need to watch the game, not a commercial. Hockey, TRUE FACT: The Scrippts National Spelling Bee got 23 times as many people watching that than the NHL Finals. Football, few if none steriod users, exciting game. You need commercials to piss you off when the game is getting good.

Because it is the most popular sport in america. If football had 86 or 100 and something games the attendance would blow Baseball and the NBA out of the water.

Hockey on the other hand i dont know, they tried to get more viewers a while back by adding color graphics but its just not the same.. i think the game has to be exciting and hockey isnt if you didnt grow up watching it...
Its all about Touchdowns and Slam Dunks
