i e-mailed my ex to say happy birthday , he never replied , i only e-mailed him coz i felt bad . he called me a few weeks ago and wanted told me to call him if i ever wanted to hang out . i never called . i dont want him back , but i felt bad not even acknowledging his bday . All my friends told me not to.He hasn't replied i feel wierd for even sending the e-mail. i expected at least a thank you

don't worry about it, you did the right thing, now move on with your life, like you said, you don't want him back!

It was very nice of you to make that gesture and to show him that you didnt totally forget about him. However he may be a little hurt that you've never called him back or may just feel weird talking to you. Atleast you know that you did something nice when you didnt have to. Plus not every nice thing you do will be acknowlaged. I must admitt that he was a little rude but some people are and life goes on.

I wouldn't necessarily expect a thank you e-mail back. Do you send thank you cards to birthday cards you get?

Its a nice gesture on your part; Just assume he got it and appreciates the thought. Don't read too much into it.

I think you are putting too much thought into someone you don't want in the first place. Leave it alone.
