get a new mouse. It depends on if the mouse has one of those small balls in it or if it uses the light. The ball can sometimes getn things stuck inside it like hair and dust. Our mouse went wako once so we bought a new one. It was only $5 and it works GREAT!!

its sounds like your mouse has developed a split personality,,, have you been over working it or comiteng it to a stressfull environment lately. or it could be a illness that runs in the family of it, maybe you should see if it has any brothers or sisters or a trackball that is closely related as a lot of them have a inherrit scizaphrenia as due to the design of them. i hope it gets better or it will be the great dustbin in the sky for that mouse.
