I was a lifeguard. In training, we were taught that, all things being equal, Euro-Americans and Asian-Americans were more neutrally buoyant than African-Americans due to differences in muscle to fat ratios. This fact helped us on the job, making us alert for fatigued African-American boys who were most at risk to drown.

Now, there may be some other differences in this world that are too taboo to be mentioned. Should some facts be outlawed? Are some differences too politically charged to be admitted even if they are true?

For example, if it can be proven that whites are weaker, all things equal, should they have different criteria to becomes soldiers, or to achieve relative fitness levels in school?

LOL! i think that you are looking for trouble with that question.
But I totally see your point

Some facts are not spoken of due of the fear of being called a racist or sexist!

Blacks (on average) have 20% more muscle mass than other races. thats a fact.

Plus, you are right about the swiming thing becase of a lot of Black people are not that drawn to water unlike other races. (maybe its the muscle thing? who knows)

Plus are physically stronger than women (generally speaking) but If a man said that, he would be called a sexist!

Good concept of a question, but im not totally convinced of your first example... all humans can float regardless of their muscle to fat ratio...

but the fact is...if u really beleive that whites are weaker and so forth that there should be a different critera to becoming soldier:then all this argument is going to do is continue to seperate races based on so called physical conditioning and perpetuate silly stereotypes...

also i forgot, if u have a natural disability, then somewhere u have the ability to overcompensate for that disabilty..

ex born blind, your touch and hearing are hightened...

also we are a product of our enviornment and most may be out of their natural habitat

Heck, I don't care. I'm a lifeguard, and most of the kids I rescue are white, because most of them swimming are white. As for whites being weaker, well, I'm not really worried about it. I can kick butt just fine.
