Is there any definitive proof that there were actual WMD's found in Iraq? My American Government professor speaks of this as fact, but I am unable to find any credible evidence proving it. Please don't cite any biased news sources like Fox News, I want real answers. Thanks!

If you remember Colin Powell went before the UN with "proof"; using satellite photo's; that they had WMD. He arrogantly said it's for sure. It was obvious that they had Powell do it instead of Bush so when it was found out NOT to be true, Bush wouldn't be the bad guy.

Of course those trucks turned out to be supply trucks. Even president Bush said in a speech that they could not find any but that it was still a good thing they invaded Iraq to save the people. Believe me; why doesn't the Prez care about North Korea or all of the African nations that kill people by the thousands over the years. Why; because they dont' have oil.

No; they didn't find it; and Fox is as close to fascism as you can get.

And Derrick, why; if Hussein was such a scumbag; did we fund Hussein and Iraq with money, weapons and support during their war against Iran.

Also, what if Iran came up to the U.N. and said the U.S. is planning to attack us so we want tto have the U.N. investigators prove to us that they are not making weapons against them. Do you think the U.S. would allow the U.N. to check our military bases? Your nuts.

Of course there wasn't any. That's why 90% of the world looks at us like we're scumbags.

It's time that you and other Republicans start being Americans and instead of just being Republicans who will blindly follow their party no matter what.

Your professor should lose his job. Tell him not to let facts get in the way of a great story. What a fool.

I don't know if Iraq had WMD's... but here are some other questions to ponder....
Why didn't Hussein, who had a well documented history of being a ruthless dictator who defied authority, just cooperate with UN weapons inspectors between 1991-2003?
Was the world suppose to just trust this man?
What if he did have WMD's? Did he want them?
The man used chemical weapons on civilians during the Iran/Iraq war back in the 1980's... and he also invaded Kuwait in 1990.
Is the world safer without Hussein controlling Iraq? I feel safer.

Iraq did still possess munitions and facilities that could have been used to generate WMD's, however all the chemical weapons were destroyed as a result of the first gulf war and the following demands of the UN.

Now, Saddam maintained to the neighboring countries that he DID have WMD's and was prepared to use them in order to prevent invasion. Even though he maintained to the rest of the world they were all gone, regional intelligence was still reporting the charade he was playing with everyone in that area.

It sure did at some point; they were used against Iraqi citizens.
The number of mass graves makes this pretty clear.
And Saddam certainly acted as if he had them, refusing to allow inspectors look for them when he was in power.
Former Iraqi General under Saddam, Georges Sada, said they did have WMD, and they were hidden or moved out of the country so the US wouldn't find them.

We will find out when the liberals force us to abandon the mission.Iraq will splinter into warring factions and be no better than Somalia, except, and God help us,all of a sudden WMD's appear. What will we do then???And whose fault will it be this time????Iraq is a big country. And to answer your question, yes there was evidence of some WMD's,just not what we expected to find. But then again,Iraq is a big country.Have we actually gone over every square mile of territory??I think not.

WMD components were found, buried in the desert.
"A Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) estimate from
September 2002 stated:
A substantial amount of Iraq’s chemical warfare
agents, precursors, munitions, and production equipment
were destroyed between 1991 and 1998 as a
result of Operation Desert Storm and UNSCOM
(United Nations Special Commission) actions.
Nevertheless, we believe Iraq retained production
equipment, expertise, and chemical precursors and
can reconstitute a chemical warfare program in the
absence of an international inspection regime."

There is definitive proof presented to the United Nations by the Inspectors that were allowed in that there were none. Not believing them G. Bush went to war and when we got there and found none, to which the administration has admitted, he decided that he went to war because Saddam Hussein was a bad leader.

It has been proven that there are at least 20 other leaders in the world today that are worse. Are we going to have 20 wars?

No. One Iraqi defector told the CIA that there were WMD, but it was later found to be untrue. The defector was unreliable and had his own personal agenda.

No, in fact our government and Fox News has said they were wrong on that fact. Where is your professor possibly getting his info?

No, they did not have any WMD's. As for your teacher you should politely ask him what their source is for that information.
