I have a toy similar to a Soma cube, but I don't know what it's called?

This is like a soma cube, the concept is the same, but there are 27 pieces connected, and the connected pieces are in groups of two or three. What is this toy called?

My first thought was "Brick by Brick"(aka Block by Block) which is the SOMA cube, re-issued by Binary Arts, with a deck of puzzle cards included.

Didn't sound like your description though, and a close look at Wikipedia's "Mechanical Puzzles" section reveals what I think you have, a puzzle commonly referred to as a "Snake Cube." Some images at the Wikipedia link that you could verify against.
