What were some of the unanticipated problems that you had to deal with? Your experiences working with Immigration and attorneys? Department of Homeland Security? Other?

I have. No problems that I was not already aware and prepared for. No immigration problems and it was before the big Homeland Security issues. I used no attorney and filled out all the required forms myself.
Biggest problem I wil say was her trying to read directions on boxes or packages relating to cooking. I sent her to 2 different schools for English. She was not dumb, the second school was a higher level. She wanted to go to college so off she went and stayed on the Deans list all but the semester she had to take Public Speaking class.
This was back in 1990 and so much has changed now. I am sure it is a royal nightmare these days.

My brother married his wife (who is from Mexico). There have been lots of papers that had to be filed with Immigration, but I don't think that it involved the Department of Homeland Security. These were pretty anticipated problems - the only surprise was my nephew - but that was a wonderful surprise. Best of luck to you!!

No problems, she was yioung enough to fit in my suitcase when I smuggled her across the border,,, now she's to old, so i put her to work cleaning my mansion,,, my only prob is finding another one,,,
